We hope you have been safe during these challenging times. COVID-19 has affected our normal way of life. In response, the DukeCard Office has put into place new policies and procedures to keep everyone as safe as possible.

DukeCard Requests Online

To avoid contact with pens and paper forms, please download the DukeCard Request form on our website. This form must be completed prior to arriving at the office. The form can be emailed to dukecard@duke.edu or the DukeCard recipient can bring the form to the office when they visit.

Graduate and Professional First DukeCards on Mobile

Students' first DukeCard will be on their Apple or Android mobile device.  To get started, visit the DukeCard website for photo specs and instructions on how to upload your photo online. Once your photo has been approved, you can add your DukeCard to your device.  Detailed instructions are available here.

If you need access to a specific lab or Health System building which requires a Prox DukeCard in addition to the Mobile DukeCard, you can schedule an appointment at the University DukeCard Office.

Important: Students who are part of the Schools of Medicine and Nursing OR need access to Duke Health buildings, including those with labs, should follow instructions given to them by their departments to obtain a DukeCard for access to those buildings.

Online Photo Submission Encouraged

All students, faculty and staff (anyone with a NetID) are encouraged to submit their photo online. We have added a short photo submission video to our website for more information.

For replacement DukeCards, we will use the photo on file to reissue the card. A valid photo ID is only required with the issuance of the first DukeCard.

University DukeCard Office Open by Appointment Only

The University DukeCard Office is open by appointment only. You can schedule an appointment online to visit our office.  When you arrive, you will be asked to wait in a designated area outside the office until you are admitted by a staff person.  Please note you will be required to wear a mask during your visit to receive service.

Changes to DukeCard Payments

The DukeCard Office will no longer accept cash or checks as a form of payment. Acceptable forms of payment are debit card, credit card, Flex, Bursar (students only) and fund codes.

DukeCard Reader Requests

DukeCard will resume providing iPODs, MRD5s or other wireless devices which accept FLEX payments or track attendance for organization or network events for Fall Term 2022. Check back here for more information as it becomes available.

Thank you all for continuing to partner with DukeCard as we all adapt to these changes. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the DukeCard Office. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon on campus.
